Who you work with
I’m Tommy, the DJ with the camera. I’ve been filming since VHS, made it a career in Tokyo, and now I shoot, edit, and deliver for companies across Europe from Rotterdam.

SC 01Orange County
A camera in the house, early
My mom worked at GTE, so new gear reached our house before most: VHS camcorders, the internet, and a Sony MiniDisc camcorder that filmed my first trip to Japan. When Japanese class asked for live skits, I wrote, directed, acted in, and edited two short films instead. One was a spoof of The O.C., theme song and all.

SC 02Tokyo
Travel films
Moving to Japan, I filmed everything and started editing seriously for YouTube. A trip to Turkey was the first time I packed a full kit and shot it like a production.
-
SC 03Tokyo, after dark
The DJ with the camera
I was DJing in Tokyo’s underground electronic scene, and the camera came to every night out: the DJs, the crowd, the room. Then someone paid me to film their event. Then came a music video. Then a surprise proposal.

SC 04Japan
Bigger rooms
Staff interviews for NYK Logistics’ internal, online, and TV videos. Every headliner at Ultra Japan 2019, for the festival’s Instagram. And twice for Diet member Nobuhide Minorikawa: his message to his constituents as a bridge reopened, rebuilt after the 2011 earthquake, then solo photographer at his fundraiser, with former Prime Minister Taro Aso as the special guest.

SC 05Los Angeles
Remote edits, then product design
I left Tokyo at the end of 2019 for some time at home before the Netherlands. Then the pandemic stopped live events, so I edited remotely for the Dutch studio Nomobo, including a multi-day Workday production with a remote and local team. Then UX design at Microsoft, on Bing for work, where corporate, education, and government customers search their company’s info, teammates, and files. Then F5, designing the dashboards network and security teams open when something breaks. It’s why every video I make starts with what the viewer needs to understand.

SC 06LA → Rotterdam
Now
Los Angeles coordination and production for BE:FIRST’s upcoming music video, the shoot in the viewfinder. Then, at the end of September 2026, the move to Rotterdam I’d planned before I ever left Tokyo.
